We are always getting asked what is the difference between Facebook and twitter and if there really is any difference.
Twitter is a website and service that allows you to send a 140 character message to your followers. The 140 character limit was due to Twitter originally being used via SMS messages from your mobile phone which has a limited number of characters per text.
Facebook uses a similar idea with its "what's on your mind?" status box. Once you put your comments in the box its goes into your friends news feed page and they get to see what you are saying. Facebook works on the concepts of getting friends, fans, and joining groups to communicate and connect with people.
Twitter is much more open network. You can search for people and see what they are saying without being a "follower". This means many more people can see your postings even if not following you.
Both forms of social media can help with your website promotion, company promotion and getting information to new clients. A great FREE way of marketing.
